Most "automations" on iOS stop at a confirmation dialog. SpotiActions and AutomateMusic expose native App Intents, so the system resolves the whole chain in the background — including from a locked screen.
An alarm, a time of day, a CarPlay connection or a Focus change fires a native iOS automation.
Shortcuts resolves an intent the app publishes — with real parameters: playlist, station, shuffle mode, target device.
The intent calls MusicKit or the Spotify Web API directly, inside the app's own background execution window.
