Requirements — iPhone with iOS 17.6 or later. iPhone only; there is no iPad or Mac version.
Languages — English and Spanish
Open Setup and choose one metric for Left side and one for Right side. Then open Settings inside the app and turn on Show in Dynamic Island. If nothing appears, check that Live Activities are allowed for DataFastView in the iOS Settings app, under DataFastView → Live Activities.
Touch and hold an empty part of the Home Screen, tap Edit, then Add Widget, and search for DataFastView. There are three:
A widget keeps the size it was created at. To change size, remove it and add it again at the size you want.
A widget cannot ask for location permission — only the app can. Open DataFastView once, allow location, and the widget will fill in on its next refresh.

Both are optional. Decline location and everything except the weather still works; decline local network and the score falls back to internet latency alone.
It combines four things the app measures directly: round-trip time to your router, round-trip time to the internet, jitter (how much that time varies), and packet loss. Tap How this score is measured on the Now tab to see the exact weighting. It is deliberately not the signal-bar count — a full-bar connection with 300 ms of jitter is a bad connection, and the bars will not tell you.
Jitter and packet loss need more than one sample to mean anything. The app waits until it has enough rather than showing you a number it does not believe yet.
Because iOS has no public API for any of them. Any third-party app showing you those numbers is estimating. DataFastView shows thermal state instead — Normal, Elevated, High or Critical — which is the real signal iOS publishes and the one the system itself acts on.
Inactive and speculative pages are counted as free, on purpose: they are cache the kernel hands back the instant something needs the room. Counting them as used would make a healthy iPhone look full.
That is how iOS works — an app that is not on screen does not get to sample the CPU once a second. The Dynamic Island keeps showing the last reading and the clock keeps ticking on its own; the widgets refresh on the schedule iOS gives them.
Take a screenshot of your Home Screen wallpaper, then in Settings → Widget background load that screenshot and choose whether the widget sits at the top, the middle or the bottom of your screen. The widget draws the matching band behind itself. If you change wallpaper, load a new screenshot.
Actions open other apps by their URL scheme. If the target app is not installed, or does not publish a scheme, iOS simply does not open anything. The two Settings actions run Shortcuts you create yourself — see the next answer.
Those two run a Shortcut on your device, and the Shortcut has to exist first. In the Shortcuts app create two shortcuts with these exact names:

The names are case-sensitive. iOS does not let an app open another app's settings pane directly, which is why this goes through Shortcuts.
The forecast text arrives already translated, so it follows the language your iPhone is set to. After changing the language, open DataFastView once so it can fetch the forecast again — the widget picks it up on its next refresh.
No. DataFastView is a single purchase. There is no subscription, no trial that turns into a bill, no in-app purchase and no advertising.
Make sure both iPhones are signed in to the same Apple Account, then open the App Store, tap your photo, and look under Purchased. A paid app you already own downloads again at no charge.
Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, and choose the purchase. If something in the app is broken, please write first — a fix is usually faster.
DataFastView has no account, no analytics and no advertising. Nothing you configure leaves your iPhone. The only network requests it makes are the latency probes you can see on the Now tab, the optional download-speed test you start yourself, and the weather request.
